A brief example of what I'm talking about is:
Hello,
My name is Allen and i'm Listening to %lastfm%
When a user views your profile it will show up as:
Hello,
My name is Allen and i'm Listening to Tool - Jambi
Get it? Good!
This plug-in will SOON be released under the MIT OpenSource license. The reason why it cannot be released now, is because AIM is being slow about giving me an Unlimited user key. Which in this case would be needed very strongly.
Oh, by the way, the plug-in will be listed on Last.fm!
Shock 3 will be updated soon, don't worry ;) Give it another month. (hah)

Allen,
I can't tell you how long I've been searching for this plugin. The neatest part is it ALSO updates the Profile on the AIM website.
It takes a few seconds to initially populate the list, but it works exactly as stated. I'm very impressed.
I'm on AIM Ad Hack Version 5.48 from www.aimadhack.net which installs AIM 6.5.4.15 with Last.FM Audioscrobbler version 1.3.2.13 with Windows Media Player plugin 2.0.29.0
The myLast.fm Plug-In displays "Last.fm: Title[BR]" (i am not allowed to post carrots in this comment) on my status bar, obviously the HTML gets stripped out on the actual window in AIM, but when you mouse-over the names on your buddy list, the [BR] tag shows up.
It seems to update the status bar if you listen to the whole track, after the track has been heard. If you scrobble the track (halfway) and skip, it doesn't update the status message until it gets a title for a song you listened to in its entirety.
Consequently the status bar reflects the song last heard 2 tracks ago, not the song currently playing. Here is my track sequence:
1.) Chuck Berry - Johnny B Good
2.) Tool - Hooker with a Penis
3.) Bill Haley and the Comets - Rock Around the Clock
4.) Bill Withers - Use Me
5.) Dr.Future - Hollywood_Poker_Pro 2001
The status bar changed to "Last.FM: Tool - Hooker with a Penis[BR]" at the start of track #4. If it makes a difference, the settings I'm using should also play the last 5 songs using the %lastfm% tag.
When I click the blue "i" next to my name on the buddy list, to see my Profile, it suddenly updated the status bar to show the track that had *just* played. I don't think there is a cause/effect relationship here, I think it happens automatically when the next track is 25% through scrobbling. The status bar is essentially 2 tracks behind.
As for the track listings, they show up as follows (while Dr.Future - Hollywood_Poker_Pro 2001 was playing). This is correct, showing the most recent track at the top.
Bill Withers - Use Me
Bill Haley and the Comets - Rock Around the Clock
Tool - Hooker with a Penis
Chuck Berry - Johnny B Good
The Isley Brothers - This Old Heart of Mine
Lastly - your plugin and the built in "AIM Music Link" plugin both fight for the status bar. While your plugin wins the battle and controls the status bar on my AIM, the AIM Music Link plugin actually captures my Windows Media Player titles in real time. The formatting doesn't include a [BR] tag either.
Perhaps there is a way to have your plugin's %lastfm% tag functional, but allow me to use the AIM Music Link plugin to display my currently playing track. This may be a perfect solution for an immediate release, and perhaps the rest of these things can be addressed in later revisions - if needed.
I have included my software versions in the previous post.
Again, congratulations with your fantastic work.
